Solution
Before you begin
IJ Scan Utility is installed when the MP Drivers for your product have been installed.
If you don't see IJ Scan Utility in the Start menu, you can find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon\IJ Scan Utility\SCANUTILITY.EXE If the IJ Scan Utility is not installed on your computer, instructions to obtain the IJ Scan Utility can be found here.
If you have a Mac®, instructions to obtain the IJ Scan Utility can be found here. Please note that depending on your product, the IJ Scan Utility may be bundled with the scanner driver.
How to use Auto Scan

Written Instructions
Follow these steps to scan:
Make sure that your scanner or printer is turned on.
Place originals on the platen glass scanning surface.
Launch IJ Scan Utility on your computer.
Select Auto to start scanning.
You can select Cancel to stop the scan.
Your scanned image is saved in the folder you've specified in Settings... > Settings (Auto Scan).
Good to know
Types of items that may not scan correctly
This includes photos with a whitish background, items printed on white paper, thin or thick items, hand-written documents, business cards, etc.
You can correct this by adjusting the scan areas in whole image view of the scanner driver ScanGear, then rescanning the original document or photo.
Image corrections
To apply image corrections based on the item type, go to Settings... > Settings (Auto Scan) and select Apply recommended image correction.
