Use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect a PIXMA TS3120 / TS3122 to a wireless network (LAN) using a Mac.

Solution

The instructions below show how to use the Easy Wireless Connect method to print and scan wirelessly.  

NoteThe PIXMA TS3120 / TS3122 printers must be connected to the wireless network and the correct software must be installed on the computer. 
 

The setup process consists of 2 parts:
  1. Start Easy Wireless Connect.
  2. Download and run the setup files.

1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer

  1. If the ON lamp (A) on the printer is flashing, tap Stop (B).

  2. Press and hold the direct button (C) on the printer, and then release the button when  (D) flashes.

  3. Make sure  and the horizontal bars (E) flash as shown.

  4. Proceed to the setup application screen to continue setup.

2. Download and run the setup files

Follow the link to get the setup file, once you find the file you need tap Download.  After the files have downloaded, follow the steps below to complete the setup process.

 If you see a message like this:

Select OK. Then, control-click on the setup file, select Open, then select Open in the error message window. This will allow the setup program to proceed.

  1. Start setup. Tap Next.

  2. Enter your computer User Name and Password then select Install Helper.

    Enter your user name and password, then click Install Helper (outlined in red)

  3. Select Start Setup.

  4. Select appropriate region and tap Next.

    Select your country or region, then click Next (outlined in red)

  5. Select Yes on the License Agreement.

    Read the license agreement, then click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed. Clicking No will cancel the setup process

  6. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the Survey.

  7. Status check occurs.

  8. Select Yes on the Connection Method.

    Check the Connection Method screen: Verify that your printer shows in this screen, then click Yes (outlined in red)

  9. Setup continues. If the Select wireless router screen (below) appears, select the router to use and enter the Network Key (password) and tap Next.
    Note The router being used and its network settings determines whether or not this screen appears.

    Select wireless router screen: Select your network, enter the network key into the field provided, click Next (outlined in red)

  10. Network connection completed.  Tap Next.

     If your printer is not detected, make sure that the computer has reconnected to the correct network. Also, you may need to temporarily disable any firewall software, or you may need to open blocked ports in the firewall. If your Mac is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try the setup again. Also, if you are using a dual-band router, further troubleshooting information can be found here.

  11. IJ Scan Utility Lite will be installed. This may take several minutes.

  12. If the following message appears, select Allow.

    Setup wants to access your network key. Click Allow (outlined in red)

  13. Tap Add Printer on the Add Printer screen.

  14. On the Add screen, select the TS3100 series with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column.  Select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint from the dropdown list in the Use box. Tap Add.

    Add window: Select your printer, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint, then click Add (outlined in red)

  15. Tap Next.

  16. Tap Next.

    Test Print screen: Click Next (outlined in red)

  17. Setup complete.  Tap Next.

  18. Select any optional application software desired.  Tap Next.

    Select any optional software, then click Next (outlined in red)

  19. Tap Next.

    You Can Print from a Smartphone or Tablet: Click Next (outlined in red)

  20. Select Next or Skip.

    User Registration: Click Next or Skip (outlined in red)

  21. Tap Exit.

    Installation completed successfully. Click Exit (outlined in red)
