Solution

Follow the written instructions below to connect your PIXMA printer to a Mac® with the Easy wireless connect method.

Note If you use Windows, refer to Easy Wireless Connect setup for Windows.


Easy Wireless Connect

There are two parts to the setup process:
  1. Start Easy wireless connect on your printer.

  2. Download and run the setup file on your computer.


1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on your printer

  1. Turn the printer ON.

  2. If the printer is performing cleaning, print head alignment, or other processes, wait for the process to finish.

  3. Tap and hold the Wireless connect symbol on the printer.

  4. When the printer preparation completes, the screen below appears. Return to the setup screen to continue.

2. Download and run the setup file on your computer

  1. Visit the Setup site.

  2. Select Download. If you're asked to run or save the file, save it to your computer, then open it when the download has completed.

  3. Double-click the Setup icon to begin the setup program. If you are asked to open the file, select Open.

  4. Select Next on the first screen.

  5. Enter your computer User Name and Password then select Install Helper.

  6. Select Start Setup.

  7. Read the information on the Before You Continue screen. Select Next to proceed.
    The setup program will acquire information on the latest software. This may take several minutes.

  8. Read the License Agreement and select Yes.

  9. Select Agree or Do Not Agree on the For using services related to Canon product screen.

    On the For using services related to Canon product screen, select Agree or Do not agree (outlined in red)

    If you select Do not agree, another message wlil appear. Read its contents and select OK to continue. If you select Cancel, you will return to the For using services related to Canon product screen.

  10. A status check occurs. Wait for it to complete.

  11. Select Yes on the Check the Connection Method screen.

  12. You will be asked to allow the setup program to access your computer's keychain. This is where the information for your wireless network is stored. Select Allow.

  13. When the Connection completed screen appears, select Next.

     If your printer is not detected, make sure that the computer has reconnected to your wireless network. Also, if you have any firewall software enabled on your computer, temporarily disable it, or allow exceptions into the firewall. Please refer to the documentation for your firewall for instructions. If you are connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), disconnect from it and try again.

  14. The IJ Scan Utility will be downloaded and installed. This may take several minutes.

  15. Select Add Printer on the Add Printer screen.

  16. On the Add screen, select the TS series with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column. Select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint from the Use drop-down, then select Add.

  17. Select Next on the Add Printer screen.

  18. Select Next on the Test Print screen.

  19. Select Next on the Setup Complete screen.

  20. Installation is complete. Select Continue online.

When the installation completes, you're ready to print.
