This article shows how to set up the PIXMA TS3700 series for use on a wireless network using the Easy Wireless Connect process.

Solution

Easy Wireless Connect

  1. Press and hold the Wireless connect button (A) on the printer.

  2. Release the button when Direct icon(B) flashes.

  3. Make sure Network status icon and the horizontal bars (C) flash as shown in the illustration below.

Once you see those lights flashing, move on to your computer or mobile setup below.

 

Windows

Download the Setup File from our website. If you're prompted to provide permission to open the file, click Open.

  1. Choose your language and country, then click OK.

    Select your language, then click OK (outlined in red)

  2. Click Start Setup. The installer will check for your printer info.

  3. Read the license agreement and click Yes to continue. If you select No, the installation will not proceed.

  4. When asked about data sharing, click Agree or Do Not Agree.

    If you clicked Do not agree, click OK on this message.

    Click OK (outlined in red) to proceed

  5. Click Next when this screen appears. The installer will search for the printer.

    If the printer isn’t found, confirm you are on the right Wi-Fi network.

    Disable any firewall software or open blocked ports in the firewall if needed.

    If your PC is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try the setup again.

  6. Click Connect to link the printer to your wireless router.

  7. The installer will download the software and drivers. The printer will then be registered into your computer. Please wait.

  8. When prompted, choose Yes or No to keep the printer’s firmware up to date.

  9. Click Next. You can choose Test Print to print a test page if desired.

  10. Click Go to Website to finish and close the installer.

macOS

Get Canon PRINT here. After downloading the file, drag Canon PRINT to the Applications folder.

Open Canon Inkjet Smart Connect from the Applications folder.

When you first open Canon PRINT, click Do not agree or Agree to continue.

Select Do not agree or Agree

Click Set Up Now.

Enter your Mac username and password, then click Install Helper.

  1. Click Start Setup on the first screen.

  2. Agree or Do Not Agree to the information request.

    Click Agree or Do not agree (both outlined in red) to proceed

    If you clicked Do not agree, click OK.

    Click OK (outlined in red) to proceed

  3. Click Next.

    If this appears, click Allow.

  4. Select your printer (it shows the last five digits of its serial number) and click Connect.

    If this message appears, click OK, then enter your Mac username and password and click Allow.

    After a few moments, the printer will be connected to the network. Please wait while the installer downloads software.

  5. Click Add Printer.

  6. Select your printer from the list. Choose Canon XXXX Series for Use, then click Add.

    Make sure your printer series is shown for Use, then click Add (outlined in red)

  7. Click Next.

  8. Click Next. Click Test Print to print a test page if desired.

  9. Click Go to Website to close the installer.

Android

You can use the Canon PRINT app to connect your Android device to the printer’s wireless network.

  1. Install and open Canon PRINT from Google Play.

  2. Read the License Agreement and tap Agree.

  3. Read the For using services related to Canon product information, then tap Agree or Do not agree.

  4. Tap OK when prompted.

  5. Tap While using the app or the appropriate affirmative option.

  6. Tap Search to find your printer.

     If you see this message, do not tap Yes or No. Tapping Yes will start the process over.

    Tapping No will cause the app to indicate that it is still searching for a printer.

  7. Tap Next when this message appears.

  8. Tap Connect or the appropriate affirmative option.

     If you tap Cancel, you'll be prompted to manually connect to the printer.

    If prompted, open your Wi-Fi settings, join the printer’s network (Canon_ij_XXXX), then return to the app.

  9. Confirm your network name is shown, then tap Yes.

    Confirmation message: The printer will be connected to the following wireless router.. Select Yes to continue.

  10. Enter your Wi-Fi password, tap the eye symbol to check it, then tap OK.

    Note If the process fails at this stage, restart the process and connect your Android device to the Canon_ij_XXXX SSID.

    Set your printer to Easy Wireless Connect mode, connect to the Canon_ij_XXXX SSID, and start again from step 1.

    Enter password screen. Tap OK when network password has been entered.

  11. If the Register Printer screen appears, tap your printer in the list.

  12. Tap Close.

  13. Wireless connection is complete. Tap Select images to start using the application or tap the to exit.

    Tap Continue or the X

     You may see a prompt similar to the following.

    Make sure the Save box is checked, then tap OK.

Rename the Printer (Optional)

  1. On the main screen, tap the Add/Switch icon.

  2. Tap and hold the printer you want to rename. An on-screen keyboard will appear. Enter a new name for the printer, then tap OK.

  3. Tap the Home icon at the bottom of the screen to see the new name you entered.

    The printer displays the new name.



iOS / iPadOS

Use the free Canon PRINT app on your iPad®, iPhone® or iPod® touch to set up a wireless capable printer on the network via Easy Wireless Connect.

  1. Download Canon PRINT from the App Store and open it. 

  2. Read For using services related to Canon product and tap Agree or Do not agree.

  3. If asked for location access, tap Allow While Using App.

  4. When this message appears, tap Allow.

  5. Tap Search.

    The phone will begin searching for printers.

  6. Tap OK.

  7. When this appears, tap No, or wait for a few moments.

  8. Tap Join.

    This message may appear on top of the message shown in step 9.

    You may not need to tap No in step 9 before this message appears.

     If you have used this app to set up another printer on your network, you may see a prompt similar to this one:

    Prompt asking to connect to network saved in the app

    To connect to the network saved in Canon PRINT, tap Yes and proceed to step 12.

    To specify the network to connect to, tap No and proceed to the next step.

  9. Tap your network.

    If your printer is too far away from your router, your device may attempt to establish a direct connection with the printer.

    If this happens, turn off the printer and move it closer to your router. Then, restart this process from step 3.

  10. If your network has a password on it, enter that password then tap OK.

    You can tap the Show password box to display the password as or after you type it in.

    The password for your wireless network is sent to the printer.

  11. Tap Close when this message appears.

  12. Tap Select images to choose a picture to print.

     If you don't want to print, tap the X at the upper right.

    After finishing the wireless setup, you may see a prompt similar to the following.
    Make sure the Save box is checked, then tap OK.

Change the printer's name

If you already registered your printer with Canon PRINT and would like to change its name, follow the steps below.

  1. From the main screen of Canon PRINT app, tap the Add/Switch icon at the bottom.

    Tap the Register Printer icon (outlined in red)

  2. Tap and hold printer's name.

    Tap and hold the name of the printer you want to rename (outlined in red)

  3. Enter a new name and tap OK.

    Enter the new name for your printer, then tap OK (outlined in red)

  4. Tap Back at the upper left corner, then tap Home.

ChromeOS

You can use the Canon PRINT app to easily set up a wireless connection so you can print from a ChromeOS device.

  1. If you have not already done so, start Easy Wireless Connect on your printer.

  2. Start the Canon PRINT app. If you don't have the app, download it from Google Play.

  3. Read the License Agreement and tap or click Agree to continue.

  4. On the For using services related to Canon product screen, tap or click or click Agree or Do not agree.

  5. Tap or click OK to proceed.

  6. Tap or click Next and Allow or Don’t Allow as needed until you see the Search screen.

  7.  

    Tap or click Search.

    If you see this message, ignore it. Tapping or clicking Yes will start the process over.

    Tapping or clicking No will cause the app to indicate that it is still searching for a printer.

    Do not tap or click Yes or No on this screen

  8. Tap or click Next.

     If you tap or click Cancel, you'll be prompted to manually connect to the printer.

    If you see this screen, tap or click Open Wi-Fi Settings, then select the printer's network name and return to the app.

  10. Make sure your network name appears in this message, then tap or click Yes.

    Note If your printer is too far from your router, your device may try and fail to connect, and you won't see the screen shown below.

    In this case, turn off the printer, move it closer to your router, and restart the process.

    Confirmation message: The printer will be connected to the following wireless router. Select Yes to continue.

  11. Enter the password for your wireless router.

    Tap or click the eye symbol to check the password entry to be sure it's correct, then tap or click OK.

    Note If the process fails at this stage, you may need to restart the process and connect your device to the Canon_ij_XXXX SSID.

    Enter password screen. Tap or click OK when the network password has been entered.

    The app will send your network information to the printer. Please wait.

     At this point, your device will communicate with the printer, which will be automatically added.

  12. Wireless connection is complete. Tap or click Select images to start using the application or tap the X to exit.

    If you see this prompt, make sure the Save box is checked, then tap or click OK.

How to Rename the Printer (Optional)

  1. On the main screen, tap or click the Add/Switch icon.

  2. Tap or click and hold the printer you want to rename. An on-screen keyboard will appear.

    Enter a new name for the printer, then tap or click OK.

  3. Tap or click the Home icon at the bottom of the screen. The printer will show the new name you entered.

    The printer displays the new name.


If the Alarm lamp turns on and E, 3, 4 or E, 3, 6 appears, turn off the printer, turn it back on, and retry the Easy Wireless Connect process.
