Adjusting the Flash Output - A610, A620, A700, and A710 IS
When Shooting mode is set to M or when [Flash Adjust] is set to [Manual] in Tv or Av mode, the flash output can be controlled in three steps, starting from FULL, when shooting. This is NOT the same as flash exposure compensation.
- Turn on the camera and (if necessary) press the <DISPLAY> button to turn on the LCD.
- Press the <FUNC./SET> button.
- Select (Flash Output) using the or button.
- Adjust the flash output using the or button.
- You can shoot the image right after selecting this settings by pressing the shutter button; this screen will appear again, once the image is shot.
- Press the <FUNC./SET> button to exit the Function menu.
- When the flash output is low, less shadow appears in the image. However, when shooting a wide scene or area, the image will likely be darker due to insufficient light. When adjusting the flash output, consider all the shooting conditions, including the distance to the subject.
- Manual flash does not fire a metering preflash. Since manual flash does not fire a preflash it is not compatible with the HF-DC1 high power flash
