Setting the ISO Speed - PowerShot A610 and A620

Change the ISO speed when shooting in dark places or when you want to shoot with a faster shutter speed. You can choose from the following speeds: Auto, 50, 100, 200 and 400. This function is only available in P, Tv, Av, and M modes.

  1. Turn pn the camera and set the mode switch to .

  2. Press the <FUNC./SET> button.

  3. Select * (ISO Speed) using the or button.
    * The current setting is displayed.

  4. Select the desired setting using the or button, and press the <FUNC./SET> button.
    -
Selecting [Auto] sets the sensitivity to produce the optimal image quality.
    - You can shoot the image right after selecting settings by pressing the shutter button. This screen will appear again, once the image is shot.

  5. Press the <FUNC./SET> button.

  • Higher ISO speeds increase the image noise. To take clean images, use as low an ISO speed as possible.
  • Although the AUTO setting selects the optimal speed, it will automatically raise the speed when the shooting condition limits are reached. It will also raise the speed when the light from the flash is insufficient to illuminate the subject matter.
