The LCD monitor is produced with extremely high-precision manufacturing techniques. More than 99.99% of the pixels operate to specification. Less than 0.01% of the pixels may occasionally misfire or appear as red or black dots. This has no effect on the recorded image and does not constitute a malfunction.
For example on a 2.0 inch color LCD panel with 115,000 pixels .01% equals 11.5 pixels. For this example the LCD panel would need to have 12 or more malfunctioning pixels before being considered a malfunctioning part. If you believe that the LCD panel possesses enough misfiring pixels to be at or above .01%, the camera/camcorder should be examined by an authorized service technician.
