Solution

Adjusting the Exposure

This function is not available in , or M modes. It also cannot be set in the , , or the modes.

Adjust exposure to the + side to avoid making the subject too dark when shooting in a backlit situation or against a bright background, and adjust exposure to the - side to avoid making the subject too light when shooting at night or with a dark background.

1. Press the button several times until the exposure compensation bar is displayed on the LCD screen.

2. Select the desired exposure compensation setting using the Main Control Dial.

  • The settings can be adjusted in 1/3 stops in the range of 2EV to +2EV.
  • You can shoot the image right after selecting settings by pressing the shutter button. The menu displays again after the shot, allowing you to change the settings easily.

3. Press to compete the exposure compensation adjustment.

  • To cancel the exposure compensation, return the setting to using the Main Control Dial.

4. Shoot the image.

Depending on the shooting mode selected, pressing the button will switch between the setting items as follows:

SCN

SCN mode / Exposure Compensation.

Shooting direction selection / Exposure Compensation

Tv

Shutter Speed / Exposure Compensation.

Aperture Value / Exposure Compensation.
