Use MP Navigator EX to create a PDF - MP970 (Windows )

Solution

PDF Dialog Box

Click Save as PDF file on the Custom Scan with One-click tab or click PDF in the one-click mode screen to open the PDF dialog box.






Scan Settings


Document Type


Select the type of document to be scanned.


Photo Select this to scan photographs.
Magazine Select this to scan magazines.
Document Select this to scan text documents.
Important

To scan correctly, select a document type that matches the document to be scanned.


Color Mode


Select how to scan the document.


Color Select this mode to scan color photographs and documents. The Descreen function will be set to OFF.
Grayscale Select this mode to scan black and white photographs or to create black and white images. The Descreen function will be set to OFF.
Black and White Select this mode to scan photographs, etc. in black and white. The image is displayed in black and white.

Document Size


Select the size of document to be scanned.


Document Size Auto Detect(Multiple Documents), Auto Detect, Business Card, 4"x6" Portrait, 4"x6" Landscape, L 89x127mm, L 127x89mm, Hagaki, Hagaki L, 2L 127x178mm, 2L 178x127mm, A5, A5 L, B5, A4, Letter, Platen Size, Stitch-assist (B4), Stitch-assist (A3), Stitch-assist (11"x17"), Stitch-assist (Platen x2), Custom (210.0x297.0 mm)

Select Stitch-assist to scan the left and right halves of a document separately and combine them back into one image.


When you select Custom, a dialog box in which you can specify the document size opens. Select Units, then enter the Width and Height and click OK.


Resolution


Select the resolution at which to scan documents. The following scanning resolution can be specified:
75 dpi, 100 dpi, 150 dpi, 200 dpi, 300 dpi, 400 dpi, 600 dpi

For Document Type, Color Mode, Document Size and Scanning Resolution, the settings specified in the PDF dialog box are displayed.



Save Settings


Automatically save the image to your computer after scanning it


Save the image to your computer as specified after scanning it.


File name


Enter the file name of the image to be saved (up to 20 characters). When saving multiple files, 4 digits are appended to each file name.


Save as type


Select a file type to save the scanned image.
Select PDF, PDF(Multiple Pages) or PDF(Add Page).


PDF When multiple images are selected, each image is saved as a separate PDF file.
PDF(Multiple Pages) Multiple images are saved in one PDF file.
PDF(Add Page) Selected images are added to a specified PDF file. The images are added to the end of the PDF file. You cannot rearrange pages of the PDF file to which images are added.
Important

Click Set... to open a dialog box and specify the PDF compression type and other advanced settings for creating PDF files.


Save in


Display the destination folder in which to save the scanned image. To change the destination, click Browse... and specify another folder.
The default destination folder is MP Navigator EX in the Pictures folder.


Save to a Subfolder with Current Date


Select this to create a subfolder in the folder specified in Save in with the current date and save scanned images in it. A subfolder named "2007_01_01" (Year_Month_Date) will be created.
If this checkbox is not selected, files are saved directly in the folder specified in Save in.


Open the save dialog box after scanning the image


Open the Save as PDF file dialog box after scanning the image and specify the destination folder and file name.


Application Settings


Open with


Assign an application with which to open scanned image. Drag and drop the icon of an application that supports the file format displayed in Save as type. The assigned application starts after an image is scanned.


Important

Images may not appear correctly in some applications. Some applications may not start.


Reset


Click to cancel the application settings.


Set


Select an application.


Start scanning by clicking the one-click button


Start scanning when you click an icon.


Defaults


Return all settings in the dialog box to their defaults.


Apply


Save and apply the specified settings.
Click Cancel instead of Apply to cancel the specified settings.


Cancel


Cancel the specified settings. The current dialog box closes and the one-click mode screen returns.


Scan


Scan and save documents as PDF files with the specified settings.
