There are two ways of cleaning, from which you should choose one depending on how the paper is smudged. To clean the fixing assembly, first perform <Clean Fixing Assembly (Reduce Paper Back Side Stain)>. If this results in no effect, then try <Clean Fixing Assembly>.
Clean Fixing Assembly (Reduce Paper Back Side Stain)
- Cleaning will be more effective if it is performed about one hour after completion of the previous printing session.
- You can also configure so that cleaning is automatically performed in effective timing. <Auto Clean Fixing Assembly>
1. Select <Menu> in the Home screen.
2. Select <Adjustment/Maintenance> then <Maintenance>.
3. Select <Clean Fixing Assembly (Reduce Paper Back Side Stain)>.
4. Check that the size and type of paper displayed on the screen is loaded in the machine, and select <OK>.
5. Select <Start>.
Cleaning starts. When a message appears notifying that cleaning is complete, press
to return to the Home screen.
- When <Clean Fixing Assembly (Reduce Paper Back Side Stain)> is complete, a sheet of blank paper is ejected. If the symptom does not improve, then also perform <Clean Fixing Assembly>.

3. Select <Clean Fixing Assembly>.
4. Check that the size and type of paper displayed on the screen is loaded in the machine, and select <OK>.
