Solution

The recording media that are compatible with this camera are CF (CompactFlash) cards and SD (Secure Digital) cards (including SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards).

This section explains about the memory cards that can be used with this camera.

Note:

If either a CF card or an SD card is in the camera, the images will be recorded to the card automatically.

If a CF and an SD card are in the camera, you can select which card you want to use, and you can also set the image size to be recorded for each card.

CF (CompactFlash) cards
  • Although the thickness is different between the two types of CF cards, either one can be inserted into the camera.
  • Ultra DMA (UDMA) CF cards and hard disk-type cards can also be used with the camera. UDMA CF cards enable faster data writing.
Important:

Using CF cards that support UDMA does not change the maximum burst indication in the viewfinder, but the actual number of images that can be captured may differ. For details, please refer to number of recordable still photos information on this page: .

When shooting movies, use a high-capacity card with a writing/reading speed of 8 MB/sec or faster.

For continuous shooting of still photos during movie shooting, using a high-speed CF card compatible with UDMA transfers is recommended.

SD (Secure Digital) and SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards

In addition to SD cards, SDHC memory cards can also be used with this camera.

Important:

When shooting movies, use a high-capacity card with an SD Speed Class of Class 6 " " or higher.
