Receiving Faxes on an Optical Line (VOIP)

Solution

Receiving Faxes on an Optical Line (VOIP)

Use of the optical line is not guaranteed. If the provider guarantees the following two points, however, you can use the optical line without Canon's guarantee.

  • Telephone speech quality is equivalent to that of general lines.
  • The line is Super G3 compatible.

*For the specifications of the line that you are using, contact your authorized telephone company.

The optical line performs packet communications. If packets are missing or late, the line can temporarily provide audio. There are cases, however, when a communication error occurs as a result of packets missing or arriving late, and fax messages may not be transmitted properly. If this happens, change the <RX Start Speed> setting.

If you continue to experience the problem after changing the speed, contact your provider.

Changing the <RX Start Speed>

1. Press [] (Menu).

2. Select <System Settings> using [] or [] and press [OK].

3. Select <Communication Management Settings> using [] or [] and press [OK].

4. Select <Fax Settings> using [] or [] and press [OK].

5. Select <RX Start Speed> using [] or [] and press [OK].

6. Select the receive start speed using [] or [] and press [OK].

7. Press [] (Menu) to close the menu screen.

The procedure is complete.
