1. Place a document.
2. Switch the machine to scan mode, and then select <Remote Scanner>. You may not need to perform this operation on the model that you are using. For details, see the e-manual or other documentation for your machine.
3. Double-click the icon of [MF Toolbox] installed in the following folder.
The hard disk you are using > [Applications] > [Canon MF Utilities]
?The MF Toolbox starts.
NOTE
When changing the scanner you want to use Perform the following procedure.
- Select [Scanner] from the menu bar.
- Click the scanner name you want to use from the pop-up menu.
4. Click one of the MF Toolbox buttons according to your purpose.
The following settings are registered for each of the buttons.
[Mail] | The document will be saved as JPEG format for an e-mail. The document will be attached to an e-mail message in your e-mail application after scanning. |
[Save] | The document will be saved as full color JPEG format. |
[PDF] | The document will be saved as full color PDF format. After scanning, [Preview] starts. |
[Color Scan] | The document will be saved as full color PDF format. |
[B&W Scan] | The document will be saved as black and white TIFF format. |

[Scan-4] | These settings are used when scanning the documents in the desired settings. |

MF Toolbox buttons - The buttons to be displayed vary depending on the model you are using.
- Depending on the model you are using, you can change the names of "Scan-1 to Scan-4."
- You can change the settings for each of the buttons.

5. Specify the scanner settings as needed.
Clicking [OK] saves the settings.
6. Click [Start].
?Scanning starts.
If you selected the [Display the Scanner Driver] check box in Step 5
The [ScanGear MF] dialog box will appear.
Specify the settings as needed.
Click [Scan].
?Scanning starts.
