Solution

Using the Remote UI, you can add or edit a destination in the address book.
You can also save (export) data in the address book to computer as a file and register (import) the data in the machine by reading it from the saved file.

CAUTION
Do not turn OFF the power until import or export are completed.
  • It may take a few minutes to complete the operation. Do not turn OFF the power of the machine until the operation is completed, as this may result in damage to the machine.

IMPORTANT
Before performing import or export:
  • Ensure that no job is being processed.
While performing import or export:
  • Do not operate the machine.

NOTE
[Import/Export] screen:
  • The [Import/Export] screen is displayed only when you log on in system manager mode.
When registering new file contents:
  • The new address book overwrites the currently registered destinations.
Number of registrations in the address book:
  • You can register up to 104 destinations (one-touch keys: 4 destinations and coded dial: 100 destinations). Each instance of destination information is counted as one destination.

Saving the Address Book as a File (Export)

The information of the address book can be saved as a file in a computer.

1. Start the Remote UI and log on in System Manager Mode.

2. Click [Address] -> [Import/Export].

3. Click [Start Export].

4. Follow the on-screen instructions and specify a file storage directory.
The address book is saved.
IMPORTANT
While exporting:
  • The screen does not change until the operation is completed. While the hourglass or pointer is indicating that the operation is being processed, do not click [Start Export].

Reading the Address Book from the File (Import)

Information for the address book can be read from a file saved in a computer.

1. Start the Remote UI and log on in System Manager Mode.

2. Click [Address] -> [Import/Export].

3. Click [Import].

4. Click [Browse] to select a file to be imported, and then click [OK].
