Occasionally, you may find EOS Utility doesn't run as well as it used to. You can delete it and then reinstall it to solve the problem.
Uninstall EOS Utility Ver.3.x
- Select Start -> All Programs.
- Select Canon Utilities -> EOS Utility -> EOS Utility 3 Uninstall.
- If you get a message asking if you are sure, select OK.
- If you get a message that EOS Utility 3 cannot be removed, select Ignore.
- Select OK after uninstallation completes successfully.
- Restart the computer.
Using Control Panel
Sometimes the unistallation program doesn't work. If that happens, you can accomplish the task with Windows Control Panel.
- Select Start -> Control Panel.
- Select Uninstall a program.
- Select Canon Utilities EOS Utility 3, and then click Uninstall/Change.
- Select OK.
- If you get a message that EOS Utility 3 cannot be removed, select Ignore.
- Select OK after uninstallation completes successfully.
- Restart the computer.
Install Canon software
Download the latest software from
Drivers & Downloads.
- Locate the installation file you downloaded from the Canon website.
- Depending on your operating system, you may need to start the installation by double-clicking the .exe
- Follow the prompts to choose your region, country, language, and software to install.
- Close any other applications, and then select OK.
- Select Install.
- Select Yes to agree to the license agreement.
- If prompted, select Yes to agree to automatic updates.
- Some operating systems ask if the Canon software should be allowed to make changes to your computer. Select Yes.
- The installation begins and a screen displays the progress. You may be asked to agree to the installation of one or more plug-in applications. If so, select Yes.
- Select Next once installation is complete.
- Choose to register for Canon iMAGE GATEWAY now or later.
- Yes - Follow the instructions to complete registration.
- No - Select Next and then OK.
- If prompted, select Restart.
