Don't connect the USB cable yet. You will be prompted to connect it during the installation using the Setup CD.

Windows

 Quit all applications before installation.

 Log on using an administrator account.

 If the computer is equipped with an optical drive, you can use the Setup CD for installation.

Click [ Run Msetup4.exe ] on the AutoPlay screen, then click [ Yes ] or [ Continue ] on the User Account Control dialog box.
 

If the CD does not autorun:
Double-click [ (My) Computer ] > CDROM icon > [ MSETUP4.EXE. ]
Go to Step 6 and follow the instructions.

1. Click here.

2. Type the name of your printer into the box near the top and click Go, or click on the appropriate letters. Then, scroll down and click on the name of your printer.

3. Make sure that Windows appears in the drop down menu at the upper right corner of the page.  If it does not, click that menu and select Windows. Then, click Download.

   

   If you are asked to run or save the file, save it to your computer.
    
4. Double-click the downloaded .exe file.
   The setup will start automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
   
   
    

5. Click [ Next ].

   

6. Click [ USB Connection ].

   

 When the .NET Framework screen appears, click [Yes].

7. Click [ Next ].

   

 Easy-WebPrint EX is Web print software that is installed on the computer when installing the supplied software. Internet Explorer 7 or later (Windows) is required to use this software. An Internet connection is required for installation.

Follow any on-screen instructions to proceed with the software installation.

8. When the Printer Connection screen appears, connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable.
   After connecting the cable, TURN ON THE PRINTER.

   

9. Click [ Next ].

   
    

Important Information for the installation

• If the Extended Survey Program screen appears

  

  If you can agree to Extended Survey Program, click [ Agree ].
  If you click [ Do not agree ], the Extended Survey Program will not be installed.
  (This has no effect on the machine's functionality.)

• When the Test Print window is displayed

  

  Test printing will be performed to check the printer's operation.
  Load plain paper into the printer and click [ Execute ].
  After test printing, click [ Next ].
  To skip test printing, click [ Next ] instead of [ Execute ].

10. Click [ Exit ] to complete the installation.

    

11. Quick Menu starts.

    

The software is installed in your Windows computer.

Mac OS X

 Quit all applications before installation.

 The instructions below apply to macOS 10.6.8 through 10.12.

 Your operating system will be automatically detected. If it isn't, select it from the drop-down menus.

• Click the Download button next to the following items (you may need to scroll down through the list):

  • ICA Driver

  • IJ Scan Utility2

  • MG2900 series CUPS Printer Driver

• If you wish to download any additional software, click the Select button, then the Download button for each program you want.
  If you are asked to open or save the files, save them to your computer.

• Open each of the files that you have downloaded. Double-click on the .pkg files. Follow all on-screen instructions to install the drivers and the IJ Scan Utility.  

• After installing the drivers and the software, connect a USB cable between your computer and the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on.

macOS 10.6.8 - 10.13.6

1. Click here.

2. Type the name of your printer into the box near the top and click Go, or click on the appropriate letters. Then, scroll down and click on the name of your printer.

3. Make sure that macOS appears in the drop down menu at the upper right corner of the page. If it does not, click that menu and select macOS. Then, click Download.

   

   If you are asked to run or save the file, save it to your computer.

4. Double-click the [ Setup ] icon.

   

5. Click [ Next ].

   

6. In the subsequent screen, enter the administrator name and password. Then click [ Install Helper ].

   

7. Click [ Next ].

   

8. Click [ USB Connection ].

   

9. Click [ Next ].

   

   Follow any on-screen instructions to proceed with the software installation.

10. When the Printer Connection screen appears, connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable.
    After connecting the cable, TURN ON THE PRINTER.

    

11. Click [ Next ].
