Solution
Manually aligning the Print Head - MP760
When automatic alignment fails or does not work well, align the print head position manually.
- Load A4- or letter-size plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) Cassette.
- Select the appropriate paper source by pressing the <Feed Switch> button.
- In either Copy, Photo, or Film menu screen, use <Left cursor> or <Right cursor> to select <Maintenance/Setting>, then press <OK>.
- Use <Left cursor> or <Right cursor> to select <Maintenance> and press <OK>.
- Use <Upper cursor> or <Lower cursor> to select <Manual Head Align>.
- Select <Yes>, then press <OK>. A horizontal pattern is printed.
- Beginning from column A on the printout, enter checkmarks in the patterns that have the most solid image.
(1): Bad example (Least solid box)
(2): Good example (Most solid box)
- Use <Left cursor> or <Right cursor> to select the pattern number that you checked in column A on the printout in step 7.
- Press <OK>.
- Repeat steps 8 and 9 to adjust columns B to L.
- Press <Left cursor>. A vertical pattern is printed.
- Beginning from column M on the printout, enter checkmarks in the patterns that have the most solid image.
(1): Bad example (Least solid box)
(2): Good example (Most solid box)
- Use <Left cursor> or <Right cursor> to select the pattern number that you checked in column M on the printout in step 12.
- Press <OK>
- Repeat steps 13 and 14 to adjust column N.
