Scan Using ScanGear MP

ScanGear MP has two modes: 'Simple Mode' and 'Advanced Mode'.
Use 'Simple Mode' when scanning without setting detailed preferences.
With 'Advanced Mode', it is possible to set detailed preferences such as resolution and contrast.

  1. Place a document face-down on the platen glass.



  2. In Select Document Type, select the source document type. Similarly, in 'Destination' and 'Output Size', select the scanning resolution and paper size, respectively.

    Photo (Color): Scan color photos in color from the platen glass.
    Magazine (Color): Scan color magazines in color from the platen glass.
    Newspaper (B&W): Scan text and line drawings in monochrome from the platen glass.
    Document (Grayscale): Scan color photos and documents in monochrome from the platen glass.

    Select Document Type


  3. To see a preview image (provisional scan), click 'Preview'.



  4. Click the 'Scan' button.



  5. Save the scanned image(s) on your computer.

  6. Set how to save files, and click the 'OK' button.



  7. After the scanned images are saved in the computer, ScanGear is finished automatically.

  2. Set each setting in the 'Input Settings', 'Output Settings', and 'Image Settings' sections.
    In 'Input Settings', set the Paper Size and how the document is set in the machine.
    In 'Output Settings', set the Resolution, etc.
    In 'Image Settings', set detailed settings such as moire.

  3. Click 'Scan'.



  4. Save the scanned image(s) on your computer.

  5. Set how to save files, and click the 'OK' button.



  6. After the scanned images are saved in the computer, ScanGear closes automatically.
