Rebuild PC Fax Address Book without special characters

1. Go to [Printers and Faxes] folder (WinXP).
   
   
   

2. Right-click on the [Canon MF8100 Series (Fax)] driver icon and select [Properties].
   
   
   

3. Click [Printing Preferences...].
   
   
   

4. Select [Person] in the [Show] box and look at the recipient's names. If the names have any special characters ( ? @ ' + - " ; [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~), you will need to remove them.
   
   
   

5. To edit a specific recipient name, highlight the name and click [Edit].
   
   
   

6. Remove any special characters from the recipient's name and click [OK].
   
   
   
   

7. Check the recipient names again to make sure there are no other special characters.
   
   
   

8. Click the [Down Arrow] next to [Show] and select [Group].
   
   
   

9. Click on the Group Name that is dialing the deleted number and click [Delete] to remove it.
   
   
   

10. Click [Add Group] to create a new group.
    
    
    

11. Create the new group and click [OK].
    
    
    
    

12. Close out of everything. This should resolve the problem.
