Description

Learn how to deeply clean the print head of the PIXMA PRO-200. If you're experiencing poor print quality (banded / streaked prints, incorrect colors, blank pages, etc.), and if standard print head cleanings do not resolve the problem, a deep print head cleaning may resolve the problem.

Solution

If print quality does not improve after a standard cleaning of the print head, clean the print head deeply. Cleaning the print head deeply consumes more ink than the standard cleaning of the print head, so clean the print head deeply only when necessary.

You will need a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the top feed.

  3. Select Maintenance on the HOME screen.

    The Maintenance screen will appear.

  4. Select Print Head Cleaning.

    Figure: LCD

The Print Head Cleaning screen will appear.

  5. Select Deep Cleaning.

    Figure: LCD

The Deep Cleaning screen will appear.

  6. Select ink group to be cleaned.

    • All colors

    • Pattern 1: PC / M / Y / PM

    • Pattern 2: C / BK / LGY / GY

    The confirmation screen will appear.

  7. Select Yes.

The printer starts cleaning the print head deeply.

Do not perform any other operations until the printer completes the deep cleaning of the print head. This takes about 1 minute.

The pattern print confirmation screen will appear.

  8. Select Yes.

The nozzle check pattern will be printed.

  9. When the completion message appears, select OK.

  10. Examine the nozzle check pattern.

If a particular color is not printed properly, replace the ink tank of that color.

If the problem is not resolved, turn off the power and clean the print head deeply again after 24 hours.

If the problem is still not resolved, the print head may be damaged. Your printer may require servicing.
