Description

Clean the scanning glass (both the top and bottom) and rollers.

Solution

Clean the scanning glass ( the top and bottom) and rollers. When cleaning off dirt with adhesive properties such as glue and correction fluid, try applying a little pressure when wiping the places corresponding to where the lines appear. If the problem is not solved after cleaning, the inside of the glass may be scratched.

  1. Open the feed tray.

  2. Open the feeder cover.

  3. Remove any dirt from the scanning glass, separation pad and rollers inside the scanner (parts shown in the figure).

Use a clean dry cloth to wipe off any dirt on the scanning glass.

Wipe off any dirt on the rollers with a cloth that has been dampened with water, and then wipe the rollers with a clean soft dry cloth.

Remove the feeding rollers before cleaning them.

  1. Open the roller cover.

  2. Lift up the roller lock lever, and slide it to the left.

  3. Remove the feed roller.

  4. Once clean, attach the feed roller. Align the notch on the roller with the shaft on the main unit side.

  5. Slide the roller lock lever to the right, insert the left side of the shaft of the feed roller, and then lower the roller lock lever to lock the feed roller into place.

  6. Completely close the roller cover so that it clicks into place.
Make sure to close the roller cover so that it clicks into place. Failure to securely close the feed cover will cause document feed problems.
