Solution | - During
(Auto) and (Baby) mode, the IS icon will change depending on the shooting situation. - In other shooting modes, you can set the image stabilization manually.

(Auto), or (Baby) mode.

Setting the image stabilization mode IMPORTANT - When the [Camera Mode] is set to [
] (Auto) or [ ] (Baby) mode, this setting cannot be made. Please make the setting in either [ ] (Cinema), [ ] (Special Scene) or [ ] (Programmed AE).
1. Turn on the camcorder. 2. Touch [ ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0150964.gif) ].
3. ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0095950.gif) Drag your finger left/right to bring the [Other Settings] menu to the center, and then ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0095951.gif) touch the icon to open it.
4. ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0074373.gif) Drag your finger up or down to bring [Image Stabilizer] into the orange selection bar, and then ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0074374.gif) touch the button.
5. Touch desired IS mode.
IS mode | Shooting method | Dynamic | Compensates for a higher degree of camcorder shake, such as when shooting while walking, and is more effective as the zoom approaches full wide angle. | Standard | Compensates for a lower degree of camcorder shake, such as when shooting while remaining stationary, and is suitable for shooting natural-looking scenes. | Off | Use this setting when the camcorder is mounted on a tripod. |
6. Touch [ ![](/library/attachments/CanonUSA/TroubleshootingContents/Images/Global/G0074552.gif) ]. REFERENCE - With Powered IS you can make the image stabilization even more powerful. Powered IS is most effective for shooting faraway non-moving subjects from a stationary position.

NOTE - If the degree of camcorder shake is too high, the image stabilizer may not be able to fully compensate.
