Solution
If an error message for ScanGear (scanner driver) appears, check the error code or error message, and then follow the corresponding solution.

Turn off scanner and follow instructions in User's Guide.

- Make sure that your scanner and the computer are connected correctly.

Delete ScanGear (scanner driver), then reinstall ScanGear (scanner driver) from the Setup CD-ROM or our website.

Your scanner may be damaged.
Restart the computer, then reconnect your scanner. If the same error message still appears, service is required.

- Reinstall ScanGear (scanner driver).

Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools, and then double-click Services to check if WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) is running or in started state.
- There may be interference with other drivers; delete unnecessary drivers.
- Your application may not properly comply with TWAIN. Scan using another application.

Set the scanning data size to be smaller than 100 MB by reducing the crop size, output resolution, or output size.
Alternatively, switch to whole image view and scan.

If the message still appears after releasing the scanner's lock switch, the scanner may be damaged. Service is required.
