How to change the flash modes
Solution
- Flash On mode: The flash fires for every picture. You can get better results outdoors, when you want to minimize shadows or give a little additional light for "catchlight" accents in portraits.
- Flash OFF mode: Set the Flash-OFF mode to cancel the flash when you want to take pictures of sunsets or are in places where flash use is not allowed. A blinking red lamp warns you of camera shake when the shutter speed becomes too slow for hand-held shooting (slower than 1/focal length of the lens in use. Hold the camera steady by leaning against a tree, wall or table. A tripod will also help to keep the camera steady.
- Slow-sync mode: The flash fires with a slower shutter speed. Use this mode to illuminate the background of a night scene.
