You can connect your camera to a printer and print using Wi-Fi.
When establishing a wireless connection with a printer, you can either use the camera as an access point (Camera Access Point Mode) or use another access point.
IMPORTANT
- This camera requires a PrintBridge-compatible printer (supporting DPS over IP) for printing via Wi-Fi.
- Procedures for connecting the camera to a printer via Wi-Fi are explained below. For more information on printer-specific Wi-Fi settings, please refer to the printer’s instruction manual.
NOTE
Connecting your camera and printer via Wi-Fi Register the printer you want to connect to using Wi-Fi.
1. Press the < > button to turn the camera on.
- The playback screen appears.
2. Press the < > button.
NOTE
- When setting up Wi-Fi for the first time, the camera nickname registration screen will be displayed.
- This nickname will be displayed on [Select a Device] screen when connecting to other devices via Wi-Fi.
- If the [Device Nickname] screen is displayed, press the <><> buttons to choose [OK], and then press the [ ] button. (The camera model name (G5 X) is set as the nickname by default.)
- To change the camera’s nickname, press the <><> buttons to choose the [Nickname] field, press the <> button to display the keyboard, and then enter the desired nickname. After you have finished entering the nickname, press the <MENU> button to return to the registration screen, press the <> button, choose [OK], and then press the <> button.
3. When the following screen is displayed, press the < >< >< >< > to choose [ ], and then press the < >.
4. Press the < >< > buttons to choose [Add a device], and then press the < > button.
NOTE
- Once a printer is added, the printer name will be displayed on the screen in step 4. To connect to a printer again, simply choose the printer name from the list.
- Once you have connected to devices via the Wi-Fi menu, recent destinations will be listed first when you access the Wi-Fi menu. You can easily connect again by choosing the desired device and pressing the < > button.
- To add a new device, display the device selection screen, and then configure the setting. If you prefer not to display recent target devices, choose the [ ] tab from the menu, press the <><> buttons to choose [Wi-Fi Settings], and then press the <> button. Then, press the <><> buttons to choose [Off] for [Target History].
5. Choose the displayed SSID (network name) from the printer's Wi-Fi setting menu.
6. Once the printer is ready for the connection, the printer’s name will be displayed on the camera. Press the < >< > buttons to choose the printer’s name, and then press the < > button.
7. After the printer has been registered, a screen similar to the following one will be displayed.

9. The menu items will be displayed. Press the < >< > buttons to choose [ : Print ] ( ) and then press the < > button.
10. The screen for specifying the print settings appears.
- To add the date to images, press the <><> buttons to choose (). Then, press the < > button and make the settings.
- To specify the number of prints, press the <><> buttons to choose ( ). Then, press the <> button and make the settings.
- Press the <><> buttons to choose [Paper Settings], ( ) and then press the <> button.
11. The screen for setting the paper size appears.
Press the < >< > buttons to choose the desired paper size, and then press the < > button.
- [Default] has been selected in the example image above.
12. The screen for setting the paper type appears.
Press the < >< > buttons to choose the desired paper type, and then press the < > button.
- [Photo] has been selected in the example image above.
13. The layout (border) settings screen appears.
Press the < >< > buttons to choose the desired layout type, and then press the < > button.
- [Bordered] has been selected in the example image above.
14. The camera returns to the print setting screen.
: Make sure that the settings are correct.
: Press the < >< > buttons to choose [Print], and then press the < > button.
15. Printing begins.
