Delete UCS32P.DLL and run MultiPASS Suite Repair.

Solution

UCS32P.DLL

Incorrect UCS32P.DLL file version is installed. UCS32P.DLL is a read-only file and is not removed by the MultiPASS Uninstaller. If another Canon scanner model is installed prior to installing the MultiPASS Suite, it may not replace the existing UCS32P.DLL file.

Close the MultiPASS Status Monitor and Toolbar, search and delete file UCS32P.DLL and then run MultiPASS Repair. UCS32P.DLL should be found in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\. There is no need to restart Windows after running Repair.

  1. Right-click 'MultiPASS Toolbar' icon, select 'Exit MultiPASS Toolbar'.

  2. Right-click 'MultiPASS Status Monitor' icon, select 'Close'.

  3. Search for file 'UCS32P.DLL' and delete it when found. Insert the MultiPASS Suite CD-ROM in the drive. If the MultiPASS Suite Setup window appears, click 'Exit'.

  4. Run the MultiPASS Repair.
    1. Click 'Start', 'Control Panel' and then select 'Add or Remove Programs'.
    2. In the 'Add or Remove Programs' dialog, select Canon MultiPASS Suite 4.00, then select Change/Remove.
    3. At the 'InstallShield Wizard - Repair or remove the program?' dialog, select Repair, then select Next.

  5. Close the 'Add or Remove Programs' and 'Control Panel' windows.

  6. Launch the MultiPASS Status Monitor and MultiPASS Toolbar. Now attempt to scan.
