If your prints contain incorrect colors, streaked prints, etc., a print head cleaning will unclog the print head nozzles and may help resolve the issue. Please follow the steps below.
Clean the print head.
-
Open the Canon IJ Printer Assistant Tool.
-
Select Cleaning.
-
When the Print Head Cleaning dialog box is displayed, select the ink group to perform the print head cleaning with.
If you select Initial Check Items, the items that need to be confirmed before print head cleaning starts will be displayed.
-
Make sure the printer is powered on, and then select Start.
-
Select OK when the confirmation message is displayed. The Nozzle Check dialog box will open.
-
To check whether the print quality has improved, choose Print Check Pattern. To cancel the check process, select Cancel.
Good to know.
-
Print head cleaning consumes a small amount of ink.
-
Cleaning the print head frequently will rapidly deplete your printer's ink supply. Perform the process only when necessary.
-
If one round of print head cleaning does not resolve the problem, clean it once more.
-
If two print head cleanings don't improve the print quality, try deep print head cleaning.
