When setting [Flash] to [Auto], [Flash] is not activated if the surroundings are light. However, when shooting with the subject backlit, [Flash] is sometimes used not to make the subject dark. This section describes the setting to shoot the shots with constant flash.
IMPORTANT
- In some shooting modes, you cannot set the [Flash] to the On setting to make it fire every time you shoot.
- The following explanations are provided based on the assumption that the [Shooting Mode] is set to [Program AE] ().
- The position and shape of the operation buttons, screens displayed, and setting items may differ according to the model you use.
For details on the shooting modes that you cannot set the [Flash] to the On setting to make it fire every time you shoot, refer to the table at the end of this page.
1. Press the <Power> button to turn the camera on.
2. Press the <Flash> ( ) button.
3. The following screen will appear on the LCD monitor.
Press the < >< > buttons to choose [On] ( ).
Make sure to select [On].
4. If the following icon is displayed on the monitor,* the setting process is complete.
* The position of the icon may differ according to the model you use.
In the following shooting modes, you cannot set the [Flash] to the On setting to make it fire every time you shoot.
