Scanning Documents and Photos with IJ Scan Utility Lite

This article explains how to scan documents and photos with IJ Scan Utility Lite.

 

Solution

 Note
  • If you do not have IJ Scan Utility Lite installed on your Mac, it can be downloaded from the support page for your model from the Canon USA website.

To scan documents and / or photos from your Mac using IJ Scan Utility Lite, follow the steps below.
 
  1. Place the item(s) on the platen.
     

  2. Start IJ Scan Utility Lite.
     

  3. Select the appropriate product from the Scanner drop down box.


     Note

    • For USB connection, select the product labeled USB. Ex: Canon MG3600 Series USB
       
    • For Network connection, select the option without a connection label. Ex: Canon MG3600 Series
       
    • For some models, such as the TS9120 and TR8520, it may be necessary to click the refresh  button in order for the scan utility to find the scanner.

       
  4. To specify the paper size, resolution, PDF settings, etc., click Settings..., and then set each item in the Settings dialog.

 

 Note

  • Once settings are made in the Settings dialog, the same settings can be used for scanning the next time.
     
  • In the Settings dialog, specify image processing settings such as slant correction, set where to save the scanned images, and more, as needed.


After adjusting the settings as desired, click OK.
 

  1. Click Document or Photo.



    Scanning will start.

  • To cancel the scan, click Cancel.
