Playing Back on a TV Screen
TVs with S (S1)-Video Input Terminal
XL H1 series users may also be able to connect to a TV/monitor via the HD-SDI jack using a commercially available BNC cable to compatible equipment or via the "D" terminal using the supplied component cable (DTC-1000). Composite and S-Video terminals cannot be used for HD signals. |
Component out "D" terminal (XL H1 series only)
Select the appropriate component video signal depending on the TV or monitor you connect (SD vs. HD).
Open the menu and select [SIGNAL SETUP]. Select [COMP. OUT], select a setting option and close the menu.

HD-SDI terminal (XL H1 and XL H1S only)
Activate the HD/SD SDI output and select the appropriate video output option (HD or SD).

Open the menu and select [SIGNAL SETUP]. Select [SDI OUTPUT] and set it to [ON].

From the same [SIGNAL SETUP] submenu select [SDI SPEC.]. Select [AUTO] or

[SD LOCKED] to match the video output you wish to use.

Turn off all devices before starting the connections.

Connect the S-150 S-video Cable to the S-video terminals.

Connect the STV-150 Stereo Video Cable to the camcorder's AUDIO1 terminals and the audio terminals of the TV/VCR.

If connecting to a TV, set the input selector to VIDEO. If connecting to a VCR, set the input selector to LINE.
- We recommend powering the camcorder from a household power source.
- The picture quality is higher when connecting to a TV with an S (S1) terminal.
- TVs with S (S1)-terminal or Video ID-1 system: Recordings made in the 16:9 mode will be automatically played back in widescreen mode.

TVs with Audio/Video Terminals
You may need to refer to the TV or VCR instruction manual for additional information.

Turn off all devices before starting the connections.

Connect the STV-150 Stereo Video Cable to the camcorder's VIDEO and AUDIO1 terminals and the audio/video terminals on the TV/VCR.

If connecting to a TV, set the input selector to VIDEO. If connecting to a VCR, set the input selector to LINE.
When connecting to the RCA terminal, set the RCA/BNC selector to RCA. When connecting to the BNC terminal, set the RCA/BNC selector to BNC (XL2 and XL H1 series only).
