Shooting Problem Subjects for the Autofocus
The autofocus may not work well on the following types of subjects.
- Subjects with extremely low contrast to the surroundings
- Subjects mixing close and far objects
- Subjects with extremely bright objects at the center of the composition
- Subjects that are moving quickly.
To shoot these subjects, first aim the camcorder at an object at a similar distance, then turn off the autofocus function or use manual focus.
Focus also cannot be achieved when the object is closer than the camcorders minimum focusing distance. Usually a focusing range of approx. 2 cm (0.8 in.) (at wide-angle from the front of the lens barrel), approx 1m (39 in.) at the tele end.
