To cancel the special copy settings, press the Stop/Reset button on each special copy screen. If the number of copies or the intensity has been set already, press the Stop/Reset button twice.

Copying onto Sides of the Paper (Two-sided copy)

You can copy two original pages onto sides of a single sheet of paper, or the front and back pages of a double-sided original onto either sides of a single sheet of paper or two sheets of paper.

For details, see Copying onto Sides of the Paper.

Copying Two Pages to Fit onto a Single Page (2-on-1 copy)

You can copy two original pages (A) (B) onto a single sheet of paper (C) by reducing each image.

Note

If you loaded only one sheet of originals in the ADF, the machine performs 2-on-1 copy after scanning the first page. When loading originals on the Platen Glass, if you want to copy only the first sheet of originals, press the OK button after scanning the first page.

If "Device memory is full. Cannot continue process." appears on the LCD when scanning, set the print quality to Standard and try copying. If the problem is not resolved, set the print quality to Fast and try copying again.

Copying Four Pages to Fit onto a Single Page (4-on-1 copy)

You can copy four original pages onto a single sheet of paper by reducing each image. Four different layouts are available.

Note

If you loaded less than four sheets of originals in the ADF, the machine performs 4-on-1 copy after scanning the last page. When loading documents on the Platen Glass, if you want to copy less than four sheets of originals, press the OK button after scanning the last page to copy.

If "Device memory is full. Cannot continue process." appears on the LCD when scanning, set the print quality to Standard and try copying. If the problem is not resolved, set the print quality to Fast and try copying again.

Copying without Borders (Borderless copy)

You can copy images so that they fill the entire page without borders.

Note

Load the original on the Platen Glass when using this function.

Slight cropping may occur at the edges since the copied image is enlarged to fill the whole page.

You can change the width to be cropped from the borders of the original image as needed. For details, see Extended copy amount.

Top of Page

Repeating an Image on a Page (Image repeat)

You can copy an image multiple times onto a single page. You can set the machine to automatically select the number of times it repeats the image, or you can specify the number.

Important

When selecting Auto layout for the number of times to repeat the image, set the document on the Platen Glass. You cannot use the ADF.

The area scanned from the original depends on the enlargement/reduction ratio.

Making Multiple Copies of an Entire Document (Collated copy)

You can obtain sorted printouts when making multiple copies of a multi-paged original.

(A) Documents

(B) Collated copy selected

(C) Collated copy not selected

(D) Copy 1

(E) Copy 2

(F) Copy 3

Note

Load the original in the ADF when using this function.

Using this function might cause a reduction in print quality. For better results, print a single copy of the original loaded in the ADF at a time.

The number of pages the machine can read varies with the document. If "Device memory is full. Cannot continue process. Reduce the number of copies to scan." appears on the LCD when scanning, reduce the number of document pages to scan and try copying again.

Copying with Fade Restoration (Fade-restored copy)

You can obtain color-corrected printouts when copying documents that have faded over time.

Note

This function is only available when making color copies.

Load the original on the Platen Glass when using this function.

Fade Restoration is not guaranteed to be effective with any photograph.

Copying Thick Originals Such as Books (Frame erase)

When copying a thick original document such as books, you can copy without black margins around the image. Using this function, you can reduce unnecessary ink consumption.

Note

Load the original on the Platen Glass when using this function.

Close the Document Cover.

There may be a narrow black margin that appears around the image.

This function removes the dark margins only. If a scanned book is too thin or when the machine is used nearby a window or in a bright environment, a faint black frame may remain. Also, if the color of an original is dark, the machine cannot distinguish the document color from the shadow and this may cause slight cropping.

Copying on Stickers (Sticker copy)

(B) 16 stickers

Note

Load the original on the Platen Glass when using this function.

You cannot use the Cassette to print on stickers. Load stickers in the Rear Tray.

You can only load one sheet of stickers at a time in the Rear Tray.

You cannot specify the settings other than the intensity.
