Setting up DRPD on the MultiPASS F50

Follow this procedure to set the receive mode to DRPD :

1. Press the <MENU> key until [RECEIVE MODE] appears.
   
   
2. Press <Set>.
   
   
3. Press [<] or [>] to scroll to [DRPD], then press <Set> to save the setting.
   
   
4. Press <Stop/Reset> to exit.

Setting a Distinctive Ring Pattern

Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) is a service offered by most phone companies, providing multiple phone numbers with different ring patterns on the same line. The F50 MFP can detect the different ring patterns and will respond accordingly. One ring pattern can be assigned for voice calls that the F50 MFP will not answer. Another ring pattern can be assigned for faxes that the F50 MFP will receive automatically. To use this feature, you will need a different custom ring pattern assigned to each number through your local phone company. For the fax line, choose from the following patterns:

• Other ring type
• Normal ring
• Double ring
• Short-short-long ring
• Short-long-short ring

Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) will function correctly only when your phone line and the F50 MFP have been set up as described above. DRPD settings on the F50 MFP must match the ring patterns assigned by the phone company.

To set your custom fax ring pattern:

1. Press <MENU> until [FAX SETTINGS] appears. Press <Set> to access.
   
   
2. Press [<] or [>] until [RX SETTINGS] appears. Press <Set> to access.
   
   
3. Press [<] or [>] until [DRPD:SELECT FAX] appears. Press <Set> to select.
   
   
4. Press [<] or [>] to scroll to the ring pattern assigned to your fax line.
   
   
5. Press <Set> to select. When done, press <Stop/Reset> to exit.
