Solution

SCN - Special Scene Mode - A610 & A620

By simply selecting one of the following shooting modes, you can shoot with the most appropriate settings for the scene.

Foliage

Shoots trees and leaves - such as new growth, autumn leaves or blossoms - in vivid colors.

Snow

Shoots without a blue tinge and without making people appear dark against a snowy background.

Beach

Shoots without making people appear dark near water or sand where reflected sunlight is strong.

Fireworks

Captures fireworks in the sky sharply and at optimal exposure.

Underwater

Appropriate for shooting images with Waterproof Case WP-DC90 (sold separately). This mode uses an optimal white balance setting to reduce bluish tones and record images with a natural hue. The exposure is regulated to use the flash as little as possible.

Indoor

Prevents camera shake and maintains the subject?s true color when shooting under fluorescent or tungsten (lamp) lighting.

Kids and Pets

Allows you to capture subjects that move around, such as children and pets, without missing photo opportunities.

Night Snapshot

Allows you to take snapshots of people against twilight or night backgrounds by reducing the effects of camera shake even without using a tripod.

My Colors

Allows you to change the image colors easily with 9 modes.

Stitch Assist

Allows you to shoot overlapping images that can later be merged (stitched) to create one panoramic image on a computer.


  1. Turn the mode dial to SCN (Special Scene mode). The current Scene mode screen is displayed.

  2. Select the Scene mode you wish to shoot using or , and shoot the image.
  • The name of the Scene mode is displayed for six seconds each time you change the mode.
  • Shooting procedures are the same as for the mode excluding .
  • For the shooting procedures of , see the Waterproof Case User Guide included with the Waterproof Case WP-DC30 (sold separately).
  • In mode, the shutter speed slows down. Use a tripod to avoid camera shake.
  • In , , , and modes, the ISO speed may increase and cause noise in the image.


  • When shooting images underwater, always turn the power off before inserting the camera into the waterproof case (sold separately).
  • In mode, using the LCD monitor is recommended.
  • Results may vary depending on the subject.
  • In and modes, using the Waterproof Case WP-DC90 (sold separately) is recommended.
