Confirm the name of the SMTP server is entered correctly
Check the SMTP server name in <SMTP SERVER> in <E-MAIL/I-FAX> in <NETWORK SETTINGS> in <SYSTEM SETTINGS> matches the SMTP server address you checked in "Checking Your E-mail Account"
When SMTP authentication is used, follow the procedure below to set up the e-mail send functions.
Note:
SMTP authentication is a method in which the SMTP server checks the user name and password before sending e-mails.
1. Press [Menu].
2. Press or to select <SYTEM SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
If the System Manager ID and System Password have been set, enter the System Manager ID and System Password using - [numeric keys], then press [Log In/Out].
3. Press or to select <NETWORK SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
4. Press or to select <E-MAIL/I-FAX>, then press [OK].
5. Press or to select <SMTP SERVER>, then press [OK].
6. Use -, [numeric keys] and [Tone] to enter the SMTP server name, then press [OK].
- Enter the SMTP server name if the SMTP server name is already registered in the DNS server.
- Enter the IP address of the SMTP server if the SMTP server name is not registered in the DNS server.
7. Press or to select <E-MAIL ADDRESS>, then press [OK].
8. Use -, [numeric keys], and [Tone] to enter the e-mail address, then press [OK].
9. Press or to select <AUTH/ENC SETTINGS>, then press [OK].
10. Press or to select <POP BEFORE SEND>, then press [OK].
11. Press or to select <OFF>, then press [OK].
12. Press or to select <SMTP AUTH>, then press [OK].
13. Press or to select <ON>, then press [OK].
14. Press or to select <USER>, then press [OK].
15. Use -, [numeric keys] and [Tone] to enter the user name used for logging in to the SMTP server, then press [OK].
16. Press or to select <PASSWORD>, then press [OK].
17. Use -, [numeric keys] and [Tone] to enter the password used for logging in to the SMTP server, then press [OK].
18. Press [Stop/Reset] to return to the standby mode.
