Solution
Print Head Alignment F60 / F80
Prior to aligning the print head, make sure paper is stacked in the multi-purpose tray and the ink tanks are properly seated and contain ink.
- Load letter-size plain paper in the multi-purpose tray.
- Press the <Menu> button on the operation panel.
- Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow keys to select [MAINTENANCE].
- Press <Set>. [Nozzle Check] will display on the bottom row.
- Press [<] or [>] to select [ALIGN PRINT HEAD].
- Press <Set>. The MP730 will print a horizontal pattern.
- In column A on the printout, note which box has the most solid image with the least vertical striping. Note the value next to this box and use [<] or [>] to enter it.
- Press <Set>.
- Repeat steps 7 and 8 for columns B through F. When all values have been entered, the LCD will prompt you to print a vertical pattern.
- Press <*>. After the the horizontal pattern has been adjusted, the machine will print a vertical pattern.
- In column G on the printout, note which box has the most solid image. Note the value next to this box and use [<] or [>] to enter it.
- Press <Set>.
- Repeat steps 11 and 12 for column H.
