So we can better respond to your needs, Canon requests that certain non-personal printer information be sent to us via your Internet connection. This is voluntary on your part. You can opt-out if you choose.
What we collect
How we collect the data
- Information about any Canon printer connected to your computer is collected about once a month.
- Information is collected automatically while the printer is on. You don't need to do anything.
- Information isn't collected if the printer is turned off.
- Information is sent to Canon after three months, after six months, then semiannually for four years.
- To send information, the program asks you to connect to the Internet. You get a confirmation when the information transfers.
- We value your cooperation if it's convenient for you to participate.
- You are responsible for any Internet fees involved.
How we protect your privacy
- We won't collect or send any of your personal information or any information about your computer other than that listed above.
- We receive information about the use of individual printers, but we are unable to identify specific customers.
- We are therefore unable to respond to requests to disclose any collected information.
