You can use the touch screen of your printer to connect to a wireless network by manually entering your network password. Follow the steps below to manually connect the printer to the network.
-
With the printer powered on, tap the Network icon on the HOME screen.
-
Tap Wi-Fi.
-
Tap Wi-Fi setup.
-
Tap Manual connect.
-
After the printer searches for networks, tap on the name of your network in the list. If you don't see your network, scroll through the list. Tap Search again to have the printer look for available wireless networks again.
-
Tap the password entry field.
If you tap Show password, the password entry will show the characters as you enter them. The screenshot in step 7 is an example of how the password appears if you do not tap Show password.
-
Enter the network password, then tap OK.
-
Tap OK to have the printer attempt to connect to the network.
If you need to make a correction, tap the password entry field and you can make any corrections to the network password as needed.
If you did not tap Show password before entering your network password, you will see asterisks instead of the password. Tapping Show password will change the asterisks to the characters you entered.
-
The printer will attempt to connect to the wireless network.
When the printer has connected, tap OK.
If the printer fails to connect, make sure you have correctly entered your network password. Make sure your password is shown on the screen (tap Show password if it is hidden), then tap the entry field and make any correction needed. If the password is correct, turn off the printer, unplug your wireless router for 15 seconds, plug it back in and then try to connect the printer to the wireless router again.
After the printer has been connected to the wireless router, it is ready for use across your network.
If you plan to use the printer with a computer but have not installed any drivers or software, click the appropriate link to obtain the installation package for your printer.
You can also use Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY for iOS and Android devices if you want to print images or scan items.
