DVD's created with your VIXIA series AVCHD camcorder and the DW-100 DVD burner are recorded using the AVCHD standard for high definition video. These discs are not compatible with standard DVD players. These discs may be played back by connecting the DW-100 to your VIXIA series camcorder and then connecting the camcorder to the television or they may be played in most Blu-Ray disc players.
Method 2: Even without a computer, you can convert your video recordings into standard definition scenes and create DVD's using the optional DW-100 DVD Burner .
The default operation when the camcorder is connected to the DW-100 DVD burner or a Computer/Pictbridge printer is to display the device connection screen* When the camcorder is connected the display will read. [SELECT THE DEVICE TYPE FOR THE USB CONNECTION

AVCHD discs containing scenes recorded in MXP mode cannot be created with the optional DW-100 DVD Burner . Use the software on the supplied Video Tools CD-ROM to back up such scenes.
Discs with recordings in FXP/XP+/SP/LP mode created using the optional DW-100 DVD Burner can be played back only with AVCHD-compatible DVD players . Do not insert a high-definition disc into a DVD player that is not compatible with AVCHD specifications as you may not be able to eject the disc.
If video files recorded in MXP mode are added to a playlist to be burned with the DW-100 burner the recording will fail and the camcorder will display the message Operation Cancelled. The DW-100 burner is unable to burn videos recorded in MXP mode. Delete these videos from the playlist to enable recording.
