Exposure compensation is used to alter the camera's standard exposure setting. You can make the picture look lighter (increased exposure) or darker (decreased exposure). The exposure compensation can be set up to +/-2 stops in 1/2 stop increments
Using the Self-timer The self-timer is for when you want to be in the picture . It can be used in Basic Zone and Creative Zone modes. You should also use a tripod.

The camera's red-eye reduction feature turns on the red-eye reduction lamp to shine a gentle light into the subjects eyes to narrow the pupil diameter or iris.
