The LCD Screen may appear black or blank if viewed while wearing "polarized" sunglasses. Polarizing lenses work by filtering out horizontal light that causes glare. This can also cut the light being shown thru the LCD of the camera.
Be careful not to block the AF- assist Beam with fingers or other items. Try using a tripod or other stable support, and use the camera's self-timer to ensure that nothing is blocking the AF-assist beam.
Formatting a SD Card Please note that formatting a SD card erases all data, including protected images and other file types. Please check the contents of the SD card before formatting it.
Virtually all Canon cameras are fitted with an industry standard 1/4-20 tripod socket to facilitate easy mounting to standard tripods from various manufacturers.
