|
If you have only one page of document to scan, go to step 5. Press the same button as you pressed in step 4b. Repeat steps 4 c through 4 e until all pages of the document have been scanned in and then go to step 5.

Disconnect non standard fax protocol device from line

Disconnect non standard fax protocol device (i. e . PC data modem, credit card machine, etc.) from line. The fax will only communicate with ITU- T standard fax protocol devices.

Disable Dial tone detect (MX300)

Dial Tone Detect Connect one end of the supplied phone cord to the phone port " L " on the fax machine . Connect the other end of the phone cord to the the phone jack on the wall.

Connect the telephone line cord to the correct port on the MX300
|
The telephone line cord must be connected correctly for the device to function properly. Connect one end of the supplied phone cord to the modular jack on the wall and the other end to the [ L ] jack on the fax machine . Connect another phone cord from the extension phone port on the fax machine to the computer's Line jack. If you're connecting a separate telephone, connect it to the extension jack on the computer.

Verify the remote fax machine is set to answer automatically
|
[BUSY/NO SIGNAL] will appear on the display (or #018 will appear on an Activity Report) for several reasons: The remote fax is not answering (disconnected, set to not answer automatically, memory is full, etc.). The fax number being dialed is incorrect. The fax number being dialed is busy.
