Thank you for using Canon products.
We have discovered that original image data disappears on PCs running Windows Vista TM, the new OS from Microsoft, if TIFF (RAW) images shot with EOS-1D or EOS-1Ds digital SLR cameras are rotated or edited under certain circumstances. Customers who use affected products should be careful and follow the countermeasure below.
Affected products:
If Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery is used to rotate TIFF images or to edit the properties* of TIFF images shot with affected cameras, the original image data will disappear. Images that disappear cannot be recovered.

Countermeasure:
When you rotate TIFF images or edit the properties of TIFF images shot with EOS-1D/EOS-1Ds, please use Canon's ZoomBrowser EX image browsing/editing software instead of Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery.
Notes:
- It is necessary to download a Windows VistaTM-compatible version of ZoomBrowser EX to run ZoomBrowser EX on Windows VistaTM-based PCs.
- Even after downloading a Windows VistaTM-compatible version of ZoomBrowser EX, please do not use Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery to rotate TIFF images or to edit the properties of TIFF images shot with affected cameras.
Information on the Windows Vista-compatible version of ZoomBrowser EX is available: http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/software/zbex5-e/index.html
