If the paper sensor becomes stuck during copying or faxing from the ADF, the Document in ADF message will appear. See images below for location

Sensor lever highlighted in yellow in normal "up" position

If there is a foreign object or torn piece of paper keeping the sensor lever down, remove it to free the lever.
