PIXMA Remote UI - Printer status, Utilities, Device settings and AirPrint settings (MG5700 Series / MG6800 Series / MG7720)

This article contains images and descriptions of some of the functions found in the Remote UI for some PIXMA printers.

Your PIXMA printer has an HTML interface known as the Remote UI.  This interface can be accessed from any device that is connected to the same network as the printer.  To access this interface:
  1. From the home window, select Setup -> Device settings -> LAN settings -> Confirm LAN settings -> WLAN setting list or LAN setting list. Then from the displayed window, check the IP address.

  2. From your computer, smartphone, or tablet device, open the Web browser, and enter the following URL:

http:// <Printer IP address>

For <Printer IP address>, enter the IP address that you checked in step 1.


When you enter the IP address, click Log on.



On the next screen, enter the administrator Password.




See "About the Administrator Password" for information on the default Password.

Click OK after entering in the Password.

After entering in the Password, the Printer Status screen will appear.



Clicking on Ink number will take you here.  On this page, click on your model.  You will then see the numbers for the ink tanks that your printer uses.

Clicking Order my ink now will also take you here.  On this page, scroll down and click on your model.  You will see the available inks for your printer and you can order them.

Utilities

The Utilities area allows you to perform maintenance functions on the printer.



Click or tap on the function on the right that you want to execute. When prompted, click or tap Yes to execute that function.

Device settings


 
In this area, you will be able to toggle the Quiet setting, as well as adjust the Energy saving settingsPrint settingsCustom settings and Ink drying wait time.

For the Quiet setting:
 


Click or tap on Do not use quiet mode or Use quiet mode.  After the printer has processed the setting, click or tap OK.

For Print settings:

In this area, you can enable / disable Prevent paper abrasion.  You can also adjust the horizontal print position.



For Prevent paper abrasion, place a check in the box to enable it or remove the check to disable it.  Then, click or tap OK.

For Adjust horizontal print position, click or tap on the paper source where you want to make this adjustment.

 Note
  • Models with dual paper cassettes will show Cassette 1 and Cassette 2.  Models with a single paper cassette will show Cassette.



Select the adjustment value that you would like to make and click or tap it.  Then, click or tap OK.
 

In this area, you can change the Bonjour service name, the printer location, and the latitude / longitude and altitude for the printer.  You can also enable or disable AirPrint.



Make any changes as desired.  Then, click OK.
