Description

Information regarding error messages that may appear on the LCD of the EOS 50D

Solution

If a problem occurs with the camera, an error message is displayed on the LCD.

If your camera displays an error screen like the one shown above, follow the displayed instructions to resolve the problem.

To recover from the error screen, turn the power switch <OFF> and <ON>, or remove and reinstall the battery.

If error 02 (Card problem) is displayed, remove and reinstall the card or format the card. This may resolve the problem.

attention:

  • When the card is formatted, all images and data on the card will be erased. Even protected images will be erased, so make sure there is nothing you need to keep.
  • If necessary, transfer the images to a personal computer, etc., before formatting the card.
  • For details on how to format the card, please see the related information.

important:

If an error code appears right after shooting, there are cases where the image may not have been captured. After recovering from the error, please check if the image is recorded on the CF card, by pressing the < > (Playback) button.
