Description

When attempting to open Digital Photo Professional 4.X, [This program requires a display capable of 1024 x 720 resolution or more (Screen area).] is displayed and the program will not run.

Solution

 

Digital Photo Professional cannot be run when the resolution of your monitor is set lower than 1024×720, or when color setting are lower than High Color (16bit). In these cases, the below error message will be displayed.

 

Digital Photo Professional 4.X System Requirements

The system requirements for Digital Photo Professional 4.X are listed in the table below.

CPU Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz or higher (recommended Core i series or later)

Changing the Computers Settings

The procedure for changing the screen resolution and color settings of the computer is explained below.

In this section, the example procedure is shown in Windows 7. Menu items, screens displayed, and procedures may differ depending on the operating system installed on the computer.

 

 

1. Click [Start]() > [Control Panel].

 

 

2.Click [Adjust Screen Resolution] under [Appearance and Personalization].
(If the display setting is set to [Large icons] or [Small icons] select [Display], and then select [Adjust resolution].)

 

 

3. Click [Make text and other items larger or smaller].

 

 

4. Confirm that the size is set to [Smaller 100% (default)].
If the size is set to [Medium 125%], choose [Smaller 100% (default)], and then click [Apply].

 

 

5. Click the back button to return to the previous screen.

 

 

6.Change the resolution.
Click the menu next to [Resolution] to display the slider.

 

 

7. Move the slider up to select a resolution size of 1024×768 or larger.

 

 

8. After closing the slider, click [Apply].

 

 

9.To implement the new resolution, click [Keep changes] on the below screen.

 

 

10. Next, change the color profile. Click [Advanced settings] to open the properties.

 

 

11. Click the [Monitor] tab.

 

 

12. Set [Colors] to [High Color (16 bit)] or higher.

 

 

13. Click [Apply].
