This article explains how to align the print head for your PIXMA TS6220. If printed lines are not straight, a print head alignment may help resolve this issue.
Solution
If printed ruled lines are misaligned or print results are otherwise unsatisfactory, adjust the print head position.
Note
If the remaining ink level is low, the print head alignment sheet will not be printed correctly.
After inserting the cassette into the printer, the paper setting confirmation screen appears on the touch screen.If the page size shown on the touch screen is A4 or Letter, select Yes.If not, select Change and change the page size to A4 or Letter.
Note
Be sure to load paper in the cassette.If you load paper on the rear tray, the print head alignment sheet is not printed.
Open the operation panel, then pull out the paper output tray.
Select (Setup) on the HOME screen.
The setup menu screen will appear.
Select Maintenance.
The Maintenance screen will appear.
Select Auto head alignment.
The confirmation screen will appear.
Confirm the message, then select Yes.
The print head alignment sheet will be printed.
Important
Do not touch any printed part on the print head alignment sheet.If the sheet is stained or wrinkled, it may not be scanned properly.
Check message and place print head alignment sheet on platen.
Place the print head alignment sheet WITH THE PRINTED SIDE FACING DOWN and align the mark on the upper left corner of the sheet with the alignment mark .
Close the document cover gently, then select OK.
The printer starts scanning the print head alignment sheet, and the print head position will be adjusted automatically.
Important
Do not open the document cover or move the print head alignment sheet on the platen until adjusting the print head position is complete.
When the completion message appears, select OK.
Remove the print head alignment sheet on the platen.
