Description
This article explains how to uninstall the scanner driver (ScanGear) from your Windows PC.
Solution
You can delete the ScanGear (scanner driver) you no longer use.
When deleting ScanGear, close all running applications and remove the USB cable connecting the machine and computer.
- Press the Windows key, tap the "R" key, and in the Run box, type control panel and click OK.
- Under Programs, click Uninstall a program (If you are using the Large icons or Small icons view, click Programs and Features).
- Scroll through the list and double-click CanoScan XXX Scanner Driver (where "XXX" is the model name).
- When a confirmation appears, click Yes.
- When uninstallation is complete, click Complete.
ScanGear is deleted.

A confirmation/warning dialog box may appear when installing, uninstalling, or starting up software.
This dialog box appears when administrative rights are required to perform a task.
If you are logged on to an administrator account, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Press the Windows key, tap the "X" key -> Control Panel.
- Under Programs, click Uninstall a program (If you are using the Large icons or Small icons view, click Programs and Features).
- Scroll through the list and double-click CanoScan XXX Scanner Driver (where "XXX" is the model name).

- When uninstallation is complete, click Complete.
ScanGear is deleted.
