Learn how to use Canon PRINT on your iOS device to scan a document or photo with your Canon printer / scanner and send the image by email.

Solution


Before you begin

 Get the Canon PRINT app at the Apple App Store.

 You must have the Mail app on your iOS device configured to work with an email address (Yahoo!, Gmail, etc.).


Steps to scan and email a photo or document

  1. Launch Canon PRINT on your iOS device.

  2. Tap Scan.

    Tap Scan (outlined in red)

  3. If you'd like to change or adjust any scan settings, tap the Change settings icon blue arrow. Otherwise, tap Scan.

    Tap Change settings (outlined in blue) to adjust scan settings as desired. Tap Scan (outlined in red) to begin scanning

    The scan will begin.

  4. After the scan has completed, load another document or photo and tap Scan if you wish to scan another page.  Otherwise, tap Exit.

    Load another document or photo and tap Scan (outlined in blue), or tap Exit (outlined in red) if you're finished scanning

  5. After you have finished scanning, tap the Share icon.

    Tap the Share icon (outlined in red)

    On other iOS devices, the icon may be on another part of the screen.

  6. Tap Use as JPEG if you scanned in a picture, or Use as PDF if you scanned in a document.

    Tap Use as JPG (outlined in red) or Use as PDF (outlined in blue)

  7. Tap Mail.

    Tap Mail (outlined in red)

  8. In the new message window, type:

    • Recipient's email address

    • Email subject

    • Your message

  9. Tap the up arrow (Send) to send the email.

    Tap the up arrow (outlined in red) to send the email

    Your scanned image is automatically attached to the email.
